Essential learning points: What is the important of Abolitionists? What is significant about the following Abolitionists: Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Freeman, Nat Turner, John Brown, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass. What happened with the Missouri Compromise? What is the significance of the Compromise of 1850?
Monday: Worked in class on project: Wrote all information on project handouts, drew most important events.
Tuesday: Worked in class on project: Assembled Final products
Wednesday: Presented Projects
Thursday: Missouri Compromise, Fugitive Slave Law, and the conflict over tariffs. Students created a paragraph about one of these events from the perspective of either the North or the South.
Friday: Compromise of 1850. Vocabulary leading up to the Civil War.

 

Literacy/History with Mrs. Bridges:

For period:April 21-25
Monday:Students began creating a graphic organizer about the packet on Fix It Strategies for reading. When complete, they receive a book mark.
Tuesday:Students continued creating a graphic organizer about the packet on Fix It Strategies for reading. When complete, they receive a book mark.
Wednesday:Celebration of Earth Day video and discussion about Earth Day and recycling.
Thursday:Library check out day
Friday:Silent reading, discussion and practice with an article about UNICEF. Comprehension questions will be answered.
