For period:March 31- April 4Essential learning points: Causes and Effects of the War of 1812. 4 new improvements in transportation after 1812. What was the "Trail of Tears".
Monday: Group-work that details the causes of the War of 1812. Presented information to fellow classmates.
Tuesday: Vocabulary about the War of 1812.
Wednesday: Information about what happened during the War of 1812. Questions given about information in the textbook.
Thursday: Information about the 4 new improvements in transportation. Students were given a worksheet about the improvements in communication and transportation.
Friday: Watched a short clip about the Trail of Tears, and read a first-hand account. Then wrote a 1 paragraph response and were given a worksheet that asked about the basic information on the Trail of Tears.
History with Mrs. Bridges:
For period:March 24-28Essential learning points:
Monday: Began unit on new government. Read about the Battle of Fallen Timbers and the Whiskey Rebellion, and were given a map activity.
Tuesday: Read about the Louisiana Purchase. Watched a video clip about Thomas Jefferson. Were given an activity that asked questions about the Louisiana Purchase.
Wednesday: Learned about the Lewis and Clark journey. Completed an activity in which they researched basic information about the members of the expedition.
Thursday: Started a movie on Sacagawea. Answered questions throughout the movie.
Friday: Finished movie on Sacagawea. Drew a map of the surrounding area.
