Monday: Silent reading. Complete fix it Strategies chart. Take fact and opinion quiz.
Tuesday: Silent reading. Work on editing Adventurers passport activity.
Wednesday: Silent reading.Complete any make-up work and begin Puerto Rico booklet with questions.
Thursday: Silent reading. Finish Puerto Rico booklet. Make a final copy of Adventurers passport activity.
Friday: Silent reading. Complete questions concerning basic skills of reading social studies material.

History with Mrs. Bridges:

For period:Sept. 17-21
Essential learning points:Learn about the cultural groups of Native Americans.
DUE notes:Quiz Wednesday. Chart Thursday. Group project Friday.
Monday:Celebrate Constitution Day. Learning about the basics of the document.
Tuesday:Review for chapter 1 quiz. Practice and take information on the assigned essential terms.
Wednesday:Chapter 1 quiz. Students took notes on Native Americans. Assigned reading pages 15-21 in the text.
ThursdayComplete regional chart about the life and culture of Native Americans.
Friday:Group project creating information about a given Indian nation, and generating a poster to present to class. The project will carry over to Monday.

Essential learning points: Recognize spelling, punctuation, grammar errors in context.
Literary terms: conflict, plot, setting, theme. Reading comprehension.
Writing fluency.
DUE notes:
Monday: Spelling pretest #164. Journal #5: Describe a "dream" day.
Tuesday: Began "Rikki-tikki-tavi" in class. Journals #4 and #5 due.
Wednesday: Cont. "Rikki-tikki-tavi"
Thursday: "Rikki-tikki-tavi" completed. Reviewing the text a-e p. 19. Progress report sent home- return signed by parent/guardian for extra credit.
Friday: Spelling #164. Journal #6: Who is the person from history you would most like to meet and why?
