Literacy/Social Studies with Mrs. Bridges:

For period:Sept. 10-14
Monday:Silent reading. Work on and complete Early Man booklet and questions. Begin work on "Fix It Strategies".
Tuesday:Silent reading. Continue to work on and complete Early Man booklet and questions. Begin work on "Fix It Strategies".
Wednesday:Silent reading. Discuss concepts for knowing the difference between fact and opinion.
Thursday:Silent reading. More discussion and practice with fact and opinion.
Friday:Silent reading. Begin reading and working on a worksheet about specific social studies reading strategies.

 

7th Integrated Math with Mrs. Jenkins:

For period: Sept. 10 - 14, 2007
Essential learning points: Can the student use the formulas found while investigating the patterns to show understanding.
Monday: Ten powered patterns, p23(2-20evens, 28-40 all)
Tuesday: Area and Perimeter using Algegra Tiles. p24(21-27)
Wednesday:Triangular Number pattern. homework: discover formula for the pattern.
Thursday: Consecutive Number Patterns. 6 board problems
Friday: Order of operations: p28(4-20evens, 21,24, 32-34)

 

History with Mrs. Bridges:

For period:Sept 10-14
Essential learning points:Who were the first Americans. How did they get here? How did geography affect the way their societies developed?
Monday:Students will use a "Discovery Booklet" on the Mayans to complete a set of questions.
Tuesday:Students will finish the booklet and participate in an oral quiz on the material.
Wednesday:Slides and discussion about the Mayans. Students are assigned Chapter 1 worksheet due on Friday. Use your notes and the text.
Thursday:Video with questions about the Inca's. Chapter 1 is due on Friday.
Friday:Finish Inca video and questions and turn in. Chapter 1 work sheet is due.

Demonstrate understanding of correct narrative paragraph form and the writing process. ISAT test preparation.
Monday
: Spelling pretest #163. Journal #3
Tuesday: Rough draft of narrative paragraph.
Wednesday: Editing rough draft in class. Final copy typed/ink due Thur with all work on pp. 94-96 of Write Source.
Thursday: Spelling #163. Journal #4 - due Monday.
Friday: Think Link testing

ETt Phone Home : Earnest Team teachers are working to call you to welcome you to our year of Adventurers students' seventh grade learning work.
UMS PTSA Blair Park Event : A congenial & fun event will be had by all on Thursday Sept 20th from 6 to 7 PM. We hope to see you there. Food & fellowship available offered by UMS PTSA.
UMS Open House Event : We hope you attend this event on Sept 20th @ UMS to meet and greet our UMS Staff, Adventurers Team Teachers, and Elective Teachers starting at 7 PM in the UMS Gymnasium. The activity ends after 8 pm.
